Shopping when you travel is just a given. It’s wise to budget out spending money for shopping.
As you prep your budget, making sure to check the currency exchange rate and the countries tax policy is a must.
Thankfully in The Bahamas, there’s a way you don’t have to worry about taxes when you shop for those gifts and souvenirs.
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism shares with us about how travelers can shop till the drop without paying any taxes.

Per the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism blogger, “when you're visiting The Bahamas, you get the opportunity to shop tax-free at stores that display the "Global Blue Tax-Free Shopping" signage.”
Make sure to have your passport or valid ID on your person. You will also have to spend $25 or more, but that shouldn’t be too difficult given the great prices in The Bahamas.
Unfortunately, the following items are not available for tax-free shopping: “food, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and medicine and pharmaceutical.”
So, load up on your shopping since you won’t have to worry about paying any taxes.
