The first step to becoming an expert on Japan is to complete the Japan Travel Specialist General Course. This is a three-chapter learning module that provides a comprehensive overview of the country's rich treasures, both ancient and modern. 

Advanced Learning

Travel advisors can delve deeper into their discovery of Japan and go beyond just an overview of the country's attributes to learn how to sell the country based on the special interests of clients. 

The Japan Travel Specialist Advanced Master's Course focuses on history, cuisine, ancient or contemporary architecture, sports, nature or unique cultural pursuits in Japan. 

Receiving Certification

Travel advisors who complete the Japan Specialist program receive certification as an expert. 

Continuing Education Credit

In addition to certification, travel advisors who are members of the Travel Institute or the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) can earn Continuing Education Credit. 

The Travel Institute gives 2 CEU credits for each of the Japan courses and the ACTA offers 4 credits.
