10 Coolest Features of Qatar Airways' Qsuite

Qatar Airways' innovative Qsuite Business Class recently made its U.S. debut and is currently available on select long-haul flights from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington D.C.'s Dulles International Airport. Having experienced it firsthand, I can honestly say the new premium product boasts a handful of exciting features passengers are sure to love regardless of whether they're looking to conduct business with colleagues, catch up with friends and family or simply relax in solitude.

Perhaps the coolest feature of the Qsuite is that passengers can adapt the space however they like. The five quads-comprised of two forward-facing seats and two rear-facing seats-offer the most potential for transformation. They can easily be opened up so that as many as four people can interact together thanks to slidable panels and movable monitors. Passengers seated in the quads can then close their privacy doors to create their own office in the sky.

The seat controls are also easy to understand and only require one touch so passengers don't have to hold their finger on the button while they change position.

The first double bed in Business Class is quite comfortable. Each seat comes with its own pillow and duvet so there won't be any fighting over the blanket. The footwell is also spacious enough that you shouldn't have to bend your knees to fit and can keep your shoes on if you wish.

The widescreen touchscreen monitors in the Qsuite will put your iPad screen to shame. It's easy to view from all seat positions and features thousands of entertainment options, whether you want to watch a movie, catch up on your favorite television show or play a game to pass the time. If you're into multitasking, you can also stay updated on the flight map while you watch.

Ambient lighting allows passengers to adjust the brightness to best suit their mood. They can also move the light to illuminate whatever it is they need to see. This feature really comes in handy while reading.

The media panel at each Qsuite seat features a touchscreen remote so passengers can control their in-flight entertainment while lying down or without having to reach for the larger screen. There's also a comprehensive power port so passengers can charge each and every one of their devices whether they require a USB port, HDMI plug-in or NFC station.

It is Business Class after all. Workspace is plentiful in the Qsuite so you won't have any trouble finding a place to open up your laptop, take notes or look over important paperwork. The surface is also ideal for a family or group that wants to share a meal together.

Adjustable dividers between quad seats and a sliding privacy door ensure that solitude is always an option in the Qsuite. Plus, passengers can easily click the "DND" button on their control panel to let the flight crew know they're not to be interrupted.

The Qsuite makes use of every inch so passengers will find a storage bin under their armrest. The space is large enough to store a pair of shoes, headphones and any similar-sized items you aren't using. There's also a small nook above the media panel for storing phones, tablets, books and other belongings.

The specially designed Qsuite menu will have you reimagining what airline food can be. Plus, passengers can pre-select their meals from the a la carte onboard menu in advance of their flight via the Qatar Airways mobile app. Personally, I enjoyed the chicken and shrimp snacks, which paired perfectly with a glass of champagne.

More than likely, you won't want to get up after settling into the Qsuite. Whether you prefer to sit upright, reclined or lie flat, there's plenty of legroom and everything you could need or want is within arm's reach. I'm 6'2" and somewhat lanky and was still able to go through the complete range of seat positions without running out of room to stretch out.
