World's Best Airlines for In-Flight Entertainment

World's Most Entertaining Airlines

1/11
With more and more travelers taking to the skies, airlines are under more pressure than ever to deliver awesome entertainment at an affordable price in order to stay competitive. Globehunters.com recently analyzed the top airlines offering long-haul flights to determine which are the best at keeping passengers entertained during their trip. Here are the top 10.

10. Singapore Airlines

2/11
There aren't many bad things you can say about Singapore Airlines' in-flight entertainment offerings as the carrier comfortably edges out British Airways to make the top 10. However, providing passengers access to live television and a cheaper Wi-Fi price could see the airline climb the rankings in 2020.

9. Air Canada

3/11
Air Canada is only held back by not offering passengers access to live television as its Wi-Fi cost is among the world's most affordable. Perhaps surprisingly, only one other North American airline fares better than Air Canada in Globehunters' rankings.

T7. China Southern Airlines

4/11
Undoubtedly a surprise entry in the top 10, China Southern Airlines offers passengers free Wi-Fi even though live television is out of the question. The airline is also limited by its offerings on passengers' personal devices.

T7. Air China

5/11
Air China is tied for seventh with China Southern Airlines. While it also offers passengers free Wi-Fi, it doesn't offer access to live television nor the ability to stream entertainment on you personal device.

6. Lufthansa

6/11
Lufthansa ranks an impressive sixth overall but is hampered by its hefty Wi-Fi cost. At $34, Germany's largest airline is the most expensive of any airline in the top 10 and ranks second to last among the 20 airlines Globehunters examined.

5. Etihad

7/11
One of two Gulf carriers to crack the top five, Etihad ranks 16th among the 20 carriers Globehunters analyzed in terms of Wi-Fi cost, with service coming in at just under $30.

4. Air New Zealand

8/11
New Zealand's flag carrier is one of only four airlines included in Globehunters' rankings that doesn't charge passengers for Wi-Fi. "In-flight entertainment was made easy thanks to the noise-canceling headphones waiting for me at my seat. On-demand offerings included a wide range of recent blockbuster movies, my favorite tv shows and a CD collection of some of the best music," wrote TravelPulse's Jessica Zickefoose last year. "If you're traveling with younger ones, there's a dedicated section just for them with more than enough content to keep them occupied the entire flight."

T2. American Airlines

9/11
American Airlines is the lone U.S. carrier in the top 10, tying for second overall. American's $16 Wi-Fi is more affordable than most airlines and the carrier even allows passengers to watch live TV conveniently from their personal device on select routes.

T2. Emirates

10/11
Emirates is elevated by its popular "ICE" entertainment system featuring more than 2,500 channels of on-demand movies, television shows and music available in multiple languages. Therefore, Wi-Fi cost is the only hurdle en route to number one.

1. Turkish Airlines

11/11
In what might come as a surprise, Turkish Airlines takes the crown for the world's best airline for in-flight entertainment. Globehunters lauds Turkey's flag carrier for offering tons of fun in the sky, including live television and in-flight movies with a Wi-Fi cost of under $15.
