Holland America Line's newest 2,650-passenger Pinnacle-class ship is slated to debut at Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades on December 19. MS Nieuw Statendam is the sister ship to ms Koningsdam and will host Oprah Winfrey during a three-day Girls' Getaway cruise starting January 30, 2019.

The 2,918-passenger Celebrity Edge is the first ship in Celebrity Cruises' new class of ships in nearly 10 years and will sail from Port Everglades starting this coming November. The ship will be complemented by an all-new Terminal 25 featuring Frictionless Arrival, a lounge, elevator lobbies, screening areas and a private rooftop terrace.

Princess Cruises' Caribbean Princess began year-round sailings from Port Everglades this past spring. What's more, the 3,140-passenger ship was refurbished as recently as last year and was named the best cruise ship for first timers at the Cruise Critic Cruisers' Choice Awards.

More than half of the staterooms aboard the Carnival Conquest feature ocean views and more than one-third come equipped with spacious balconies. The 2,974-passenger vessel sails to the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean with itineraries ranging from two to nine days.

Silversea Cruises' Silver Whisper has a capacity of under 400 passengers, making it the ideal ship for passengers seeking to spread out. What amounts to a luxury resort at sea, the Millennium Class ship features a wellness spa, multiple boutique shops and a multi-tiered show lounge. The ship's 140-day, 62-port, 32-country World Cruise will depart South Florida January 6, 2020.
