These Cruise Lines Have Resumed Sailings

Cruising Makes a Comeback

The coronavirus brought the cruise industry to a halt but there are signs of life-in fact, a lot of it. Many cruise lines have resumed sailings once again. Most are located in Europe and Asia.

Unfortunately, none are in the United States but the resumption of cruising is a positive sign for the entire industry regardless of where ships are sailing and a sign that cruising can start again in a more robust manner in the near future.

MSC Cruises

MSC is now operating in the Mediterranean with sailings in Italy and Malta. Cruise passengers are mostly from Italy and other Schengen countries.

SeaDream Yacht Club

SeaDream Yacht Club successfully completed its Mediterranean sailing season and is now scheduled to start Caribbean voyages in November.

Dream Cruises

Dream Cruises restarted sailings in July, operating from Taiwan with two- and three-night sailings calling in ports such as Peng Hu, Matsu Island, Kinmen and Hualien.

Aranui Cruises

Aranui began sailings in French Polynesia in July and has continued to operate, currently sailing roundtrip voyages from Papeete to the Marquesas Islands.

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises

Hapag-Lloyd restarted operations in July with roundtrip sailings from Hamburg and is scheduled to embark on Antarctica sailings in December.

Costa Cruises

On September 6, 2020, Costa Cruises resumed sailings in Italy with Italian guests but canceled its South America sailings.

Variety Cruises

Variety Cruises is sailing from Athens, Greece, to ports, including Poros, Folegandros, Poliegos, Mykonos, Delos, Santorini, Paros, Syros, Kythnos through October 2020.

European Waterways

Private, small-group barge sailings with European Waterways are operating this summer and fall.

Paul Gauguin Cruises

Paul Gauguin Cruises is operating seven-night sailings in French Polynesia on Tahiti & the Society Islands, 11-night Cook Islands & Society Islands sailings and Society Islands & Tuamotus 10-night sailings. Guests can also book the Tuamotus & Society Islands Reunion Cruise and the Marquesas, Tuamotus & Society Islands coming up later in 2020.

Ponant Cruises

Ponant Cruises is operating cruises in Europe including sailings around France, Croatia and Greece.

TUI Cruises

TUI Cruises is operating the Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2 for scenic sailings only along the coasts of Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway and more.

TUI plans to sail the Mein Schiff 6 on September 13, 2020, voyage to Piraeus and Corfu, Greece.

AmaWaterways

AmaWaterways has suspended operations through October, but the cruise line is operating one river ship in Germany under a charter agreement.

CroisiEurope

14/14
CroisiEurope began sailing in mid-July in France and expanded sailings to the Seine, Rhone, Rhine, Danube and Elbe rivers and the Burgundy Canal.
