Driven by advisor feedback and industry trends, The Travel Institute unveiled two new educational programs: Air Travel Immersion Tokyo Destination Specialist.
Mastering Air Travel Complexity
The Air Travel Immersion program provides advisors with an indispensable guide to help them navigate the complexity of the airline segment.
Lecture topics, which will be delivered live from Sept. 28-Oct. 1, and include Fraud Doesn’t Fly: Protecting Your Agency from Air Ticket Scams; Client Qualification & Strategic Air Itinerary Design; Air Pricing, Booking & Ticketing Mastery; and Risk Management, Client Protection & Disruption Resolution.
From Order Taker to Air Advisor
“The missed opportunity for many advisors is in treating air as a simple transaction instead of a valuable advisory service,” said Guida Botelho, CTIE, vice president for The Travel Institute.
“Too many advisors focus on finding the lowest fare rather than educating clients, designing better itineraries, managing risk, and facilitating a better experience,” she added. “When agents position themselves as air travel advisors instead of order takers, they build greater trust, justify professional fees, reduce costly mistakes, and create loyal clients – that’s exactly what our Air Immersion course is designed to help them do.”
Capitalizing on Japan’s Tourism Surge
The Tokyo Destination Specialist program gives advisors deep destination insight to create customized itineraries for travel to Japan, which has seen a 40% increase in arrivals from the U.S. and Canada over the last two years.
Advisors have access to information about The Travel Institute’s free online learning session, Japan: Endless Discovery - Japan & Tokyo 101, which will be presented by the Japan National Tourism Organization and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau on Aug. 26 at 2 pm EDT.

Pricing and CEU Details
The rate for the Air Immersion program is $155 for students registering in August and $175 for those who register in September. CEUs. Participants who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion and five CEUs.
The Tokyo course, which would typically sell for $89, is complimentary for Education Hub subscribers. Participants will earn 10 CEUs.
