Two major storms are bearing down on Hawaii this weekend, and the travel industry is reacting accordingly to help its customers.
Airlines and hotels have begun to waive change fees and cancellation fees as Hurricane Iselle is expected to make landfall on Thursday, with Tropical Storm Julio - which is likely to become a hurricane later today - right behind expected to arrive on Sunday. In between, Tropical Storm Genevieve lies just 1,200 miles off the Hawaii coast.

United, America, Delta, Alaska and Hawaiian airlines, respectively, have all waived reservation change fees and differences in fares for passengers who have tickets for travel on Aug. 7 and 8. Check each airline's respective website for more details.
Hotels are following suit. Outrigger Hotels, the popular chain in Hawaii with dozens of hotels, is currently working with guests who are already in Hawaii to extend reservations where they have occupancy.
For those scheduled to arrive in Hawaii this weekend, Outrigger posted on its website: "If you prefer to cancel or modify an existing reservation, cancellation fees will be waived for arrival dates from Tuesday, August 5 through Tuesday, August 12, 2014. This applies to any hotel or condo in Hawaii managed by Outrigger."
