Colombian airline Avianca announced plans to expand service
to the United States with the addition of flights between Miami and Guatemala
City, launching on May 10.
The carrier revealed it would operate a daily flight using Airbus
A320 aircraft, offering more than 2,500 weekly seats between the two cities.
The new route is still subject to government approval.
“We are excited to launch this new direct route, further
enhancing and reaffirming our commitment to offer travelers more access to key
destinations in Latin America,” Avianca Sales Director Rolando Damas said.
“Guatemala, located at the heart of the Mayan civilization,
is a country full of history, with a rich biodiversity that makes it a top
destination in the region,” Damas continued.
So far in 2025, Avianca launched five additional routes
connecting Latin American destinations, including Fort Lauderdale to Medellin
and Managua; Miami to San José, Costa Rica; Chicago to San Salvador; and Tampa
to Bogota.
Tickets for the flights between Miami and Guatemala City are
now on sale.
