Delta Air Lines Adding Flights for College Football Playoffs

Delta Air Lines is taking care of its customers who love college football by adding 13 flights and nearly 2,000 more seats between December 29 and January 2.

As the top four teams battle to secure their spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship game in January, Delta is adding flights for travelers heading to Los Angeles or New Orleans in the coming weeks.

In addition to its current schedule, the airline is increasing service to Los Angeles International Airport from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport for fans of the Michigan Wolverines and Alabama Crimson Tide.

For Texas Longhorn and Washington Huskies supporters, Delta is adding flights to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Travelers stuck in the air during the biggest college football games of the year, the carrier revealed its fleet of aircraft equipped with live satellite TVs would offer the action live, as long as the flight is over the continental United States.

Last week, Delta announced the launch of daily nonstop service from Seattle to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, starting on June 6, 2024. While the new route is subject to government approval, it would mark the airline’s inaugural nonstop flight to Taipei from the U.S. and the first Delta aircraft operation to Taiwan since 2017 via Narita International Airport in Japan.
