Delta Air Lines is switching up the names of its fare classes and making other changes to make the booking process simpler.

While there are no major shifts to how the carrier refers to its different seat products, the new names are more streamlined. The new fares will be called: Delta Main (previously Main Cabin); Delta Comfort (previously Comfort+); Delta First (previously First Class); Delta Premium Select; and Delta One.

The names of the last two products—which represent the airline’s long-haul premium economy and its international business class product, respectively—were not changed.

Within the new Delta Main fare umbrella, there will now be three new booking tiers: Delta Main Basic (previously Basic Economy), which is the most limited fare; Delta Main Classic, which affords benefits like earning MQDs toward status, an e-credit for cancellations, same-day standby, and the ability to choose your seat; and Delta Main Extra, which allows for a higher boarding group, refunds back to the original form of payment, same-day standby, seat selection, and higher frequent flier mileage earn at seven miles per dollar.

The other fare classes will now also offer the “Classic” and “Extra” tiers. All the new fare classes and tiers are available to browse in a new booking layout on Delta’s website and app that allows travelers to more easily compare each product.

“As we listen and learn about what our customers want when it comes to their travel, we know that clarity and choice are paramount,” said Eric Phillips, SVP and chief digital officer at Delta. “Our reimagined shopping experience gives customers more options and flexibility to pick the travel experience that works best for them, and a full picture of all the benefits of flying with Delta.”

The changes went into effect on May 15 on fares with travel originating in the United States and Canada from October 1.
