With the addition of Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a second operating base, OneJet is expanding its footprint in the Midwest.
The expansion at Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport will be made possible by former Midwest Airlines CEO and chairman, Timothy Hoeksema, whose investment is leading efforts.
Moving forward, Hoeksema will work alongside the company's executives in an advisory role.
OneJet already offers twice-daily service from Milwaukee to Pittsburgh but will add new routes to Columbus, Ohio and Omaha, Nebraska beginning November 1.
As of that date, OneJet will officially offer 60 weekly nonstop flights to and from Milwaukee.
OneJet will operate the new flights with seven-seat Hawker 400XP turbojet aircraft. It will look to add an eighth seat to its business jets through the end of the year, according to USA Today.
"This further expansion into Milwaukee marks our first base outside of Pittsburgh and underscores the growing demand for accessible and convenient nonstop air service in regional markets," said OneJet CEO, Matthew Maguire, in a statement.
"Milwaukee is an exceptional market for OneJet's service offering, and we look forward to working with Tim and our other partners in the region as we introduce additional nonstop service options for not only Milwaukee travelers but also for those in our new markets of Columbus and Omaha."
Maguire told USA Today that OneJet expects to add more than a dozen new routes from Milwaukee down the road, also predicting that more bases are likely to come.
