South African Airways to Resume Nonstop Joburg-JFK Flights

South African Airways will resume its nonstop flights between Johannesburg and New York JFK starting March 7.

SAA's New York-Johannesburg flights (204) have continued as nonstop flights, but the flight from Johannesburg to New York (203) has been making a one-hour refueling stop in Dakar, Senegal, which lengthens the trip by about 90 minutes.

Flight 204 New York-Johannesburg leaves New York at 11:15 a.m. and arrives in Johannesburg at 8:20 a.m. the next morning in time to catch most of SAA's connecting flights for that day to other parts of Africa.

Flight 203 from Johannesburg departs at 8:30 p.m. and arrives in New York at 6:40 a.m. the next day. It is also timed to enable travelers to catch connecting flights the day they arrive.

SAA operates the flight using wide-body Airbus A340-600 aircraft with 275 seats in economy class and 42 lie-flat seats in Premium Business Class. SAA also flies Johannesburg to Washington Dulles.
