Thomas Cook Airlines has been voted the World's Leading Charter Airline for the second year running at the World Travel Awards.
This follows its success as Europe's Leading Charter Airline in September, again for the second year running.
Thomas Cook Group's Chief Airlines Officer, Christoph Debus, said: "This is such a proud moment for us and I'd like to thanks all our employees across our Group Airlines for working so hard for our customers."
"We're on a very customer-focused journey to deliver the best service, to the best leisure destinations on the best aircraft and awards like this confirm that, while we've still got lots to do, the progress we're making so far is excellent," Christoph added.
This award comes as Thomas Cook Group Airlines completes its fleet upgrades, with £100M cabin upgrade program, 25 new Airbus A321s and the introduction of some incredible long haul routes to the USA and Caribbean. For example, just in November and December 2016, the Group Airlines started seasonal flying programs from Munich and Manchester to Tobago, with London Gatwick to Cape Town starting in December.
With a strategy of being the best leisure airline, Thomas Cook Group Airlines has seen rapid growth of seat-only sales on top of the existing charter and tour operator-connected business. Around 50 percent of short and medium haul and more than 90 percent of the new US capacity being seat-only.
