TSA Comments on One-Stop Security Program

The Transportation Security Administration’s new One Stop Security Program, which began in July, is a first step towards easier security protocols for travelers on select routes. 

Currently, only two routes between the United States and London Heathrow are participating in the program, which eliminates the need for passengers to go through a second security screening upon arrival to their international airport. 

The Acting Deputy Administrator for the TSA, Adam Stahl, commented on the new program, which has more than likely been in development since the Biden Administration. 

“One Stop Security is TSA’s latest common-sense approach to streamlining the passenger journey while also bolstering aviation security,” said Stahl. “International air travel can often be a challenging and time-consuming process. It’s our goal to simplify this experience while maintaining the highest levels of security.” 

“We believe One Stop Security is an important step in that direction and helps us advance President Trump’s vision for a new Golden Age of American travel, while ensuring the homeland is safe and secure.”

The two are Delta Air Lines’ London Heathrow route between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and American Airlines’ route between London Heathrow and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. 

“OSS agreements enable the avoidance of unnecessary duplication of security controls and increase the global sustainability of the aviation security system, and provide for a more straightforward transfer process for passengers and their belongings resulting in shorter connections, fewer missed connections and fewer missing bags at destination,” said the International Civil Aviation Organization, which has advocated for countries with similar security methods to begin offering smoother security options for travelers.
