United Airlines announced the launch of its international
winter schedule with 50 additional daily flights compared to last winter.
This winter, United will become the first carrier in the United
States to fly direct from the continental U.S. to Manila, Philippines, and the
only carrier to fly between the U.S. and Christchurch, New Zealand, starting
this December.
The airline will also be the first U.S. airline to return to
Beijing when service from San Francisco resumes on November 9. In total, the carrier
will fly to more than 110 international destinations and grow its schedule by
more than 25 percent versus last year, marking the largest winter expansion in
its history.
“United's industry-leading international network has always
set it apart from the competition, and we continue to find new ways to bring
our customers the locations and schedules that they want,” United Senior Vice
President Patrick Quayle said.
“This winter is no exception, as we further expand and
deliver unparalleled connectivity around the globe,” Quayle continued.
To meet the growing demand for international travel, United
strategically expanded its network to key markets this winter, including new
flights to Auckland, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Tokyo/Narita, San Juan and Montego
Bay; daily service to Beijing and Shanghai; and extended service to Athens,
Barcelona, Rome and Paris.
Tickets are on sale now for the new and returning routes.
In October, United announced the largest-ever
summer flight schedule for 2024, including new service to Brussels, Malaga,
Reykjavik, Rome and more. In addition, the carrier also revealed it would bring
back nine of its most popular seasonal routes to Portugal, Italy, France and
Spain up to two months early to give customers more time to explore Europe.
