For United Airlines passengers traveling through Newark Liberty International Airport, the new United Polaris lounge will open June 4.
Open to those flying in the airline's international premium cabin, the United Polaris lounge will embrace the Newark/New York metropolitan area and incorporate elements unique to the region, including a bar that will serve craft cocktails popular in New York City.
United's cocktail list includes the United Polaris Old Fashioned and an a la carte dining menu which blends international comfort foods with familiar staples that have made the lounges so popular.
The Newark lounge will be more than 27,000 square feet and feature 455 seats, 15 different types of seating, 570 power outlets, 450 USB ports, four private phone rooms, 10 private daybeds, 10 luxurious shower suites, personal valet services, a private dining area with table service and a bistro-like buffet.
"More United customers begin their journey in the New York/New Jersey region than in any other of our hub cities," United New York/New Jersey president Jill Kaplan said in a statement. "From here, our route network reaches across the globe, and we are thrilled to now offer our customers traveling in United Polaris business class a best-in-class lounge experience."
"We continue to add new international destinations from Newark, including Porto, Portugal, and Reykjavik, Iceland, which we launched this month," Kaplan continued. "The addition of the United Polaris lounge for our customers traveling on long-haul flights strengthens our service offering in Newark for the most enjoyable experience."
In April, United debuted its Polaris lounge at San Francisco International Airport, and the airline plans to open another facility at George Bush Intercontinental in Houston this summer, as well as a lounge at Los Angeles International Airport this fall.
The United Polaris lounge in Newark is located in Terminal C, following security screening, between Gates C102 and C120.
