This woman tried everything she could to stay on the plane.
Unfortunately for her, biting and kicking a police officer is probably not the best idea.
Police have arrested Kamaryn Gibson, who allegedly kicked a fellow Southwest Airlines passenger in the head while putting away her stuff. The incident happened on May 30. Not only was the incident caught on video on TikTok, it has accumulated more than two million views. And in the user comments, it has served as something of a forum to ban alcohol. The woman was apparently inebriated.
The flight was to depart from Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans.
She was asked to leave the Southwest Airlines flight and kept screaming "I paid for my flight!" She was asked to leave the flight but refused. And that’s when the police were called. Gibson then tried to physically attack officers on the jetway while being escorted out and kicked and bit one of the officers.
"She refused to get off the plane and was escorted off by deputies. In the jetway outside the plane, she became extremely combative and kicked two deputies," a police spokesman said.
Gibson was restrained in a wheelchair.
The plane had already left and then had to return to the gate.
"Whether she attends court or not is totally up to her. She attacked three deputies and delayed a plane full of people for 45 minutes. We’re not dropping any of those charges," the police spokesman said.
Said a Southwest spokesperson: "We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for unruly customers."
One TikTok user called for a ban on alcohol prior to flights or a two-drink limit.
