WATCH: Boeing 777 Makes Its Own Clouds

There's no question, no dispute, that the Boeing 777 is a magnificent aircraft.

The size of the Boeing 777 is immense. Depending on the model, the Triple 7 stands 60-61 feet tall, can be 210-242 feet long, with a wingspan of 200-212 feet, and weighs 300,000-340,000 pounds before a single soul or piece of luggage ever sets foot on the plane. It holds a minimum of 31,000 gallons of fuel and can max out at 590 miles per hour.

That's a lot of airplane.

In fact, the Boeing 777 is so big and so powerful that it can create its own weather system.

The wings themselves are able to generate pressure differences around them as you can see in this fabulous video of an Emirates 777 on approach to Birmingham International Airport in England. The clouds literally separate as the plane flies through them, creating a beautiful vortex - something that happens all the time in flight but that you rarely get to see when the plane is that low.
