London Heathrow Airport retains its position as the most internationally connected airport in the world in 2024, according to the latest figures from OAG.

The UK-based leading global travel data provider released its 2024 Megahubs report on Tuesday after analyzing dozens of the largest airports around the world based on a variety of factors, including the total scheduled seats for the past year.

OAG also examined the total number of destinations served, the number of scheduled connections to and from international flights along with the number of destinations served from the airport to reveal the top hubs for connectivity right now.

After Heathrow—which boasts 61,356 connections and 227 destinations—Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Tokyo Haneda Airport in Japan round out the top three, followed by Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport and South Korea's Incheon International Airport.

New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport is the highest-ranking North American airport globally, coming in at sixth with 43,337 connections and 199 destinations.

Domestically, the always-busy O'Hare International Airport in Chicago and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport rank top, tying for first for connectivity with more than 111,000 domestic connections combined.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Denver International Airport retain their positions in the top five domestically with the help of major carriers like American Airlines and United Airlines.

JFK ranks just 21st for connectivity domestically as it boasts only 3,194 domestic connections and 71 U.S. destinations.

Major airpots in Seattle (SEA), Los Angeles (LAX), Detroit (DTW), Houston (IAH) and Boston (BOS) round out the list of the most connected U.S. airports heading into the busy holiday travel period
