The experience inside an airport can set the tone for an entire trip and knowing which airports are the best in the world can mean smoother, more relaxing travel connections.
Travel ranking company Skytrax has just unveiled its list of the world’s best airports for 2026, which identifies 20 hubs around the globe where passengers should be happy to arrive and depart.
Frequent fliers will be unsurprised to see that Singapore’s Changi Airport (SIN) was named the best airport in the world once again. The traveler-favorite hub has landed the top spot on Skytrax’s list more than a dozen times, thanks to its beloved amenities like its indoor garden and waterfall, calm rooms, swimming pool, movie theater, and more.
In fact, airports in Asia swept the top five spots on the ranking, with Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) scoring second place, followed by Tokyo Haneda (HND), Hong Kong (HKG), and Tokyo Narita (NRT).
The remaining top-ranking facilities on the list are a mix of hubs in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Notably, no airports in the United States made the top 20 list. Canada’s Vancouver International Airport (YVR) was the only airport in North America to make the list, coming in at number 10.
Qatar’s Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) was not ranked on the 2026 list; executives at the Middle East hub withdrew from the rankings due to the ongoing conflict in the region.
In addition to rating the overall best airports in the world, Skytrax also awarded additional superlatives across a variety of categories.
Seoul Incheon, for instance, was named the world’s most family-friendly airport, thanks to its amenities like special Kid Zone play areas with different themes like sea travel and outer space, as well as relaxation and nap zones.
Tokyo Haneda was named the world’s cleanest major airport, and Hong Kong won titles for the best airport washrooms and world’s best airport security processing.
Singapore Changi was also awarded the title for world’s best airport dining experience, and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) took home the prize for the best airport in Europe.
Skytrax based its 2026 rankings off of hundreds of passenger surveys across nearly 600 airports from August 2025 to February 2026.
