When talking about the busiest airports in the world for international travel, Dubai International Airport topped the list again in 2018.
According to The Associated Press, the United Arab Emirates hub announced it had served 89.1 million passengers last year, an increase from the 88.2 million passengers welcomed in 2017.
After overtaking London’s Heathrow Airport in 2014 as the world's busiest facility for international passenger traffic, Dubai International has been the leader in the category every year since.
Airport officials told Reuters passenger traffic rose one percent last year, but it was short of the 90.3 million goal for 2018 and the weakest annual growth rate in at least a decade.
Around 75 airlines currently host flights to and from Dubai as the industry continues to use the hub as a gateway between the east and the west. The facility is also the home to the long-haul carrier Emirates.
As for the overall world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport earned the crown once again.
