Interjet Airlines announced Wednesday it has launched new daily, nonstop flights from Houston and San Antonio to El Bajio, Mexico.
The new nonstop routes from both Houston’s George Bush International Airport and San Antonio International Airport to El Bajío’s Guanajuato International Airport will begin operating June 22.
As far as the prices for tickets on the new flights, roundtrip promotional fares from Houston to El Bajio start at $229 and fares from San Antonio to the Mexican destination start at $259.00.
“El Bajío is experiencing an ongoing social and economic revitalization,” Interjet CEO Jose Luis Garza said in a statement. “It has become a strong business and economic center and we’re delighted to be able to offer travelers to and from this area, our unique brand of lower prices with free checked bags on select fares, more legroom between seats and great service that has been embraced everywhere we fly.”
In February, Interjet launched a daily, nonstop service between Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Guadalajara International Airport meant to serve both business and leisure travelers.
The airline also announced in January it launched nonstop service from San Francisco International Airport to Cancun International Airport and Guadalajara International Airport, with the flights taking place three times per week.
