Multiple Passengers Get Sick During United Flight

A United Airlines flight traveling from Munich to Newark diverted to London after several passengers became ill Sunday.
According to ABC News, the flight was met by paramedics after landing safely at London's Heathrow Airport.
Passenger Pete Teoh tweeted details and photos from the scene, pointing out that multiple passengers complained of feeling lightheaded. At least one passenger had to be taken off the plane while others remained seated.

United confirmed that all passengers were deplaned and those affected by illness were eventually released.
"We have provided customers meals, hotel accommodations and are working with customers to get them to their final destinations," the airline added in a statement.

Sunday was one of the busiest travel days of the year as millions of Thanksgiving travelers returned home. AAA predicted 50.9 million Americans would travel for the holiday in 2017, including 3.95 million air travelers.

This past weekend's incident comes nearly two years after a Los Angeles-bound American Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Heathrow after several passengers and crew members fell sick with an unknown illness.
Just last month, an Emirates flight to Munich made an unexpected landing in Kuwait after a child died onboard.
