Rail Europe, the largest distributor of European rail products in North America, and Eurail are asking travel agents to inspire others to see Europe from the window of a train by creating their ideal itinerary using the NEW Eurail Global Pass in the "My Dream Itinerary" contest.
Participating agents can win the chance to experience their own dream rail vacation for themselves. Among the four final itineraries chosen, one will be voted the best overall itinerary and become the actual mini-FAM for the four winning travel agents. Entry submission is May 1-22, 2019.
From the windswept coasts of Ireland to the spice bazaars of Istanbul and so many places in between, the NEW Eurail Global Pass allows travelers to realize their ideal European experience by connecting them to 31 European countries by rail.
The Eurail Global Pass enables travelers to see Europe at their own pace and agents to build their own unique itineraries. The Eurail Pass product line offers validities from three days to three consecutive months. For inspiration, agents can use Rail Europe's online Travel Planner to help build their itinerary.
How it Works
Agents submit their dream itineraries from May 1 to May 22, 2019, by completing the Official Online Entry Form found either by logging into the Rail Europe agent website in the US agent.raileurope.com or agent.raileurope.ca in Canada (excluding Quebec). The form will also be available through www.raileurope-mydreamitinerary.com.
Entry must include at least three countries and five different days of travel in participating Eurail Global Pass countries. Agents must also select which category of traveler the itinerary is meant for and may submit a different itinerary for each of the four categories. They may only be a finalist in one category. The contest is subject to full Terms & Conditions.
All entries will be judged from May 23 to June 2, 2019, based on originality, creativity, popularity, ease of use in training webinar and reason for the submission. Four finalists will be chosen to move on to the voting phase to take place June 3-28, 2019. Each of the four finalists will be provided the opportunity to co-present their itinerary in a webinar for their peers.
The finalists' itineraries also will be posted on the contest site website for voting to select the best overall itinerary. Voting will be open to the travel trade, consumers, friends and family. One vote per person per day is allowed and is subject to registration.
Prizes
In addition to co-presenting their itineraries in a Rail Europe webinar, the four "My Dream Itinerary" finalists will each receive a spot on the all-expense paid mini FAM to Europe (estimated value of $5,000) and a leather Tech Wallet from Mark and Graham (estimated value of $149).
The one "My Dream Itinerary" Grand Prize winner also gets to have their itinerary used for the mini FAM, plus earns bragging rights for Best Overall Eurail Global Pass itinerary and a two-piece set of monogrammed luggage in their choice of luggage color from Mark and Graham (estimated value of $490).
The Eurail Global Pass Countries
The Eurail Global Pass allows for extensive rail travel on the national railroads of the participating 31 Eurail countries: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey (Liechtenstein and Monaco are considered part of Austria and France respectively.)
