Business Travel News (BTN) by Northstar revealed that
National Car Rental retained its place as the top-rated supplier for its 11th
year in a row in its annual Car Rental and Ground Transportation survey.
The survey was conducted with a select audience of BTN from
February 1 to March 11, 2026. The 163 respondents included corporate travel
buyers and corporate travel agents who held contracts with rental car companies
or incurred significant volume over the last 12 months. Car
rental companies were rated on a scale of 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent).
The survey results revealed:
- National 4.29
- Enterprise 4.21
- Hertz 4.11
- Avis 3.96
- Budget 3.93
National improved its rating from the 2025 survey by 0.05
points, while Enterprise increased by a tenth of a point. Hertz
received the largest increase at 0.21 points, placing the company in third,
up from fifth last year. Fourth-place Avis’ rating remained steady at 3.96 and
Budget dropped to fifth after placing third in 2025, the only car rental
supplier whose overall score declined by 0.08 points.
“We put a lot into what our customers say” said Mike
Guadagnoli, Enterprise Mobility VP of business rental sales and global
operations in a statement. “We think we consistently communicate that
throughout our organization, that your efforts on a day-to-day basis — whether
it’s the conversations with our sales teams and how they interact with their
customers or our operators and how they interact with the end travelers — get
recognized in some way, shape or form, and it has a big impact across the
industry.”
He added, “It’s very encouraging that we’re moving in the
right direction, not just in customer service scores, but in every area of the
business. We’re trying to get a little better than we were yesterday.”
