Which car rental websites provide the best experience?
On Tuesday, Qentelli released its Summer Travel Report which revealed the best car rental websites based on the booking experiences of customers.
Qentelli assessed the car rental industry's web presence to determine which companies are delivering the best service to customers based on scoring categories including Home Page Load, Search Response Time, Time on Task and Task Completion.
In terms of individual companies and how they fared in the report, Enterprise Rent-A-Car was the top-ranked site in the Home Page Load Time criteria, and Alamo Rent a Car took home the top spot in the Time on Task findings.
The other two categories had split winners. For Search Response Time, Alamo and Avis Rent a Car finished tied for first, and the duo of Enterprise and Hertz Rent a Car finished deadlocked at the top for the Task Completion Rate category.
Qentelli also revealed some overall findings for all of the car rental websites that could also be applicable to any Internet page. The first lesson learned in the report is to reduce the amount of requests sent with fewer components on the homepage. Less clutter translates to an easier website experience.
Other tips provided from the findings of Qentelli include the reduction of images on search pages to increase the speed of the process, and minimizing HTML and JavaScript requests to increase overall speed.
One of the most surprising findings from the report is that sometimes the more comprehensive and powerful booking pages-Qentelli found Hertz was a good example of this-resulted in a better customer experience despite the slower load speeds.
