It’s safe to say that people live a lot of life in the car—and that includes Uber rides, too.

The rideshare company released its tenth annual Lost & Found Index this week, looking back on all the weird, wacky and fun items people have accidentally left in their Uber rides over the past decade. Looking through the list, it’s easy to laugh and wonder, “What were people doing that they left that in an Uber ride?”

While phones remain the top lost item during an Uber ride, some of the strangest lost items of the year include an ankle monitor, 420 donuts (an oddly specific and very large number), gold mouth grillz, one Louboutin heel, dentures, two trees, grass, a dishwasher, a wizard wand, a Toboggan, a police radio, pelvic implants, a double door oven, a package of live butterflies and a kitchen faucet—proving that people’s lost items are as unique as they are.

Most often, though, lost items are phones, wallets, pieces of luggage, keys, headphones, clothing, passports, glasses, jewelry and laptops.

The top ten most unique items Uber drivers have accidentally picked up after they’ve dropped off their riders over the past decade are definitely some of the most interesting.

In 2017, someone left a lobster in their Uber driver’s car, while the next year, someone left their divorce papers (although maybe that one was intentional). In 2019, the seafood came back again, with one Uber rider leaving a salmon head in the car. In 2020, one passenger left a lanyard that said “virginity rocks” in their Uber ride, while the next year, a super fan of Kate Middleton left a large painting of the British royal behind.

In 2022, one rider left 500 grams of caviar in their Uber ride, while the next year, someone left their toy poodle behind (we believe it was the living kind). In 2024, someone left their fake butt. Just last year, the top lost item was a taxidermied rabbit. This year? What takes the cake is a massive 75-gallon fish tank.

Uber’s also been improving its lost item return process and system, making it easier to report anything a rider might have lost and ensuring it returns to the right person.
