Two passengers have been arrested in connection with an incident aboard a cruise ship.
Gannon Jacox, 29, and Brooklyn Hicks, 28, both of Ohio, were drinking alcohol and having an argument aboard an unnamed cruise ship in Brevard County, Florida. After another passenger asked them to quiet down, Jacox and Hicks allegedly pushed their way into the passenger’s cabin, then started a brawl.
The cabin had three occupants, including a 9-year-old child, but no one was seriously injured.
Jacox faces three charges of felony burglary with assault or battery, one charge of felony child abuse and one misdemeanor charge of battery. Hicks faces one charge of felony burglary with assault or battery and one charge of misdemeanor battery.
Wayne Ivey, sheriff for Brevard County, posted about the incident on Facebook, writing that he hoped the pair will “enjoy their extended stay at their unplanned destination with close quarter sleeping arrangements, communal showers, no drink packages and of course no excursions!”
“So what’s the moral of the story,” he added. “If you can’t hold your liquor, then you definitely shouldn’t be out in public causing a scene like this and injuring random people including a child!! And if that memo is not clear enough for you then you might want to stay your butt out of Brevard County!!”
