Genting Hong Kong celebrated another milestone Friday with the christening of Dream Cruises' second cruise ship, World Dream.

The ceremony at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Cruise Terminal featured a special blessing by the ship's official Godmother along with a sneak preview of the new vessel's signature stage production, Sonio.

World Dream is the sister ship to Genting Dream, which debuted last year and recently arrived in Singapore.

Dining options include over 35 restaurant and bar concepts while available entertainment includes live shows, themed events and a virtual reality experience. There's also no shortage of high-end services and amenities that will be available to guests.

More than 70 percent of the ship's 1,686 staterooms will feature private balconies, and the Crystal Life Spa brand will operate the Western Spa and Asian Spa onboard World Dream.

There will also be a slew of all-inclusive activities to appeal to families.

"We are truly excited to christen World Dream in Hong Kong-and to be the first-ever cruise ship to have this honor in a city that holds such significance to Genting Hong Kong and Dream Cruises," said Genting Hong Kong Chairman and CEO, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay in a statement.

"Now, with Genting Dreams' arrival in the Pearl River Delta a year ago, she has delivered over 300,000 international passenger trips from across the region. Hundreds of jobs have been created and tourism receipts in hotels, airlines and destination management industries for the Pearl River Delta have grown significantly."

Dream Cruises took delivery of World Dream last month.

Upcoming winter itineraries aboard World Dream include six-day voyages to Manila and Boracay in the Philippines and six-day sailings to Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh and Nha Trang.

More than 1,000 guests were on hand for Friday's ceremony, including the chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Dr. Peter Lam.

Dream Cruises became the first-ever Asian-based premium cruise line brand when it launched in 2015.
