Holland America Line has opened bookings for five newly added cruises aboard Oosterdam following the ship’s upcoming transformation, giving travelers an early opportunity to sail aboard the first vessel to emerge from the cruise line’s Holland America Evolution program.
The new voyages begin October 31, 2027, and span the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Caribbean. Oosterdam’s return to service was moved up from the original schedule following strong demand for sailings aboard the reimagined ship.
The first post-transformation voyage will be a 10-day Adriatic Antiquities cruise departing Oct. 31 from Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy, and ending in Trieste. The itinerary includes stops in Pompeii and Sicily, the Greek island of Corfu, Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor and destinations along Croatia’s Adriatic coast.
Four additional cruises will follow, taking Oosterdam from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean.
“One of the great joys of travel is being among the first to discover something new, and these voyages give guests that opportunity aboard Oosterdam,” says Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line. “As the first ship to emerge from Holland America Evolution, Oosterdam marks the beginning of an exciting new era for our fleet.”
An 11-day “Adriatic Antiquities: Croatia, Greek Isles & Istanbul” voyage departs November 10, 2027, from Trieste and ends in Piraeus (Athens), Greece. A seven-day “Mediterranean Splendor: Greek Isles & Malta” cruise departs November 21, 2027, from Piraeus and ends in Barcelona, Spain.
Oosterdam then will cross the Atlantic on a 13-day “Cultural Crossing: Spain & Gibraltar” cruise departing November 28, 2027, from Barcelona and arriving in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ship’s new voyage collection concludes with an 11-day “Eastern Caribbean: Windward & Leeward Islands” cruise departing December 11, 2027, from Fort Lauderdale on a roundtrip itinerary.
The cruises will be among the first opportunities for guests to experience Holland America Evolution, a multiyear modernization program that the cruise line describes as the largest fleet investment in its 153-year history.
Oosterdam will receive new stateroom and suite categories as part of the transformation, including purpose-built Solo Verandahs, forward-facing Bridgeview Suites, Vista Suites and a redesigned Pinnacle Suite.
The ship also will add a Grand Dutch Café and redesigned Ocean Bar, bringing features found aboard Holland America’s Pinnacle Class ships to Oosterdam. Other accommodations and public spaces will receive updates as part of the project.
