In recognition of national ‘Plan a Solo Vacation Day’ on March
1, 2026, Paul
Gauguin Cruises is offering independent travelers an opportunity to sail
across seven select itineraries in French Polynesia and the Pacific with no solo
supplement charge.
French Polynesia and the wider South Pacific are
increasingly recognized as welcoming, immersive and community-oriented
destinations for solo adventures, beyond being considered a honeymooners’
paradise and favorite for nature and culture-loving families.
Solo guests can choose their pick of sights, landmarks and
activities across the region as the 330-guest m/s Paul Gauguin sails the
shallow lagoons and smaller ports of French
Polynesia.
After a recent renovation, the 165-stateroom ship strikes a refined,
yet relaxed tone suited to individual travelers. Most accommodations feature
private balconies, popular with solo guests seeking both privacy and panoramic
views. Dedicated solo programming encourages connection without compromising
independence, with curated meetups and hosted gatherings, allowing guests to
engage with like-minded travelers, yet leaving plenty self-guided exploration
time.
