Chile's diverse landscape beckons travelers in 2025 with destinations that range from snow-capped volcanoes to urban attractions. From internationally acclaimed locations to hidden gems, here are five unforgettable places to visit in the coming year.

Cochamó Valley

Often called the Yosemite of South America, Cochamó Valley has earned its recent designation as a Nature Sanctuary. Located in the Los Lagos Region, this remarkable destination features towering granite walls perfect for climbing and rich biodiversity that includes rare species like the huemul and pudú. While access to the valley is free, visitors must register and book camping in advance during peak season, with camping fees starting at 8,000 CLP per night.

Abastos Route

The Abastos Route, recently recognized by Time magazine as one of the world's greatest places for 2025, showcases the gastronomic treasures of Chile's O'Higgins Region. This unique cultural route connects farming communities across nine districts, offering authentic culinary experiences starting from 25,000 CLP. The route continues to expand, with three new experiences planned for the 2024-25 summer season.

Santiago

Santiago, named South America's best destination at the World Travel Awards, stands as a testament to Chile's blend of modernity and tradition. The capital city offers both free attractions like San Cristóbal Hill and La Moneda Palace and premium experiences such as the Sky Costanera, where adults can enjoy panoramic views for 18,000 CLP. Its strategic location places visitors just 90 minutes from both beaches and ski slopes.

Chile's Ski Centers

For winter sports enthusiasts, Chile's ski centers offer the most accessible skiing in South America. Valle Nevado, La Parva, El Colorado and Corralco provide high-quality slopes at competitive prices. Most centers are easily accessible from Santiago, with the main resorts just 95 minutes from the capital. Visitors can take advantage of lower prices during off-peak seasons.

Chile's Volcanoes

The country's volcanoes round out Chile's must-visit destinations for 2025. The majestic Villarrica, Osorno and Llaima volcanoes offer exceptional trekking opportunities within their respective national parks. The Osorno volcano, situated 47 kilometers from Puerto Varas in Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, particularly stands out for its accessibility and stunning views. These volcanic giants provide various activities from basic trekking to advanced climbing, with prices varying based on the chosen adventure.

Travelers are advised to book accommodations and activities in advance, particularly during peak seasons, to secure the best rates and availability.
