The cold weather is still impacting the United States, but AAA Travel has unveiled the top domestic and international destinations for Spring Break 2025.

According to AAA, booking data shows most travelers are looking for warm weather destinations, with four Florida cities on the top 10 list, including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Tampa.

The other U.S. destinations are Atlanta, New York City, Honolulu, Los Angeles/Anaheim, Chicago, and Charlotte.

“For families who live in colder climates, Spring Break can’t come soon enough,” AAA Travel Vice President Stacey Barber said.

“Florida is always a favorite this time of year because of its beaches, theme parks, and cruise ports,” Barber continued. “Many travelers are also wanting to sightsee in iconic American cities like New York and Chicago. And for those going on European vacations, keep in mind new travel requirements taking effect this year, especially if London is on your Spring Break itinerary.”

As for the top international destinations, eight of the top 10 cities are in Europe, with Rome earning the number one spot, followed by London and Paris. The other European hotspots include Amsterdam, Dublin, Lisbon, Madrid, and Barcelona.

Tokyo and Aruba also made the list, with Barber saying that “travel to Asia, particularly Japan, has been booming the past year, with more Americans interested in exploring all that Asian countries have to offer.”

How Much Will Spring Break Cost?

Prices for travel have increased ahead of the Spring Break season, with the average roundtrip ticket for a flight being $820 for domestic cities (up seven percent) and $1,440 for international cities (up two percent).

Hotel stays in the U.S. have increased by eight percent, while international hotel stays have climbed by four percent. Domestic car rentals average about $645, and international rentals average around $615.

For travelers taking a cruise for Spring Break, AAA’s forecast projects that 19 million Americans will take to the open seas in 2025, with domestic cruises being 27 percent higher than last year. International voyages are three percent more expensive.
