The Bahamas has announced some upcoming events in the islands for the busy Fall and Winter seasons, along with other updates, including increased air service, and some promotions at different resorts across the country.
Air connectivity to The Bahamas gets a lift in the coming months. Aeroméxico has announced a nonstop flight from Mexico City to Nassau, which will launch March 19, 2027.
This will be the first nonstop link between the two countries. Breeze Airways has a new twice-weekly nonstop between Nassau and Tampa International Airport, which is the first service between the cities in two decades. And Tradewind Aviation, a luxury regional carrier, has announced a daily nonstop between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Nassau. That service launches on December 10.
Promotions for the coming months include a fourth night free and $250 food and beverage credit at SLS Baha Mar, a fourth night free at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau, and a fourth night free and daily $100 resort credit at the Rosewood Baha Mar.
Some of the upcoming events in the islands include:
- TASTE of Grand Bahama Island, in November, will be held at Xquisite Catamaran Center; this new luxury culinary experience is designed to engage all five senses.
- The Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival runs October 21-25 at Baha Mar in Nassau, and includes interactive demonstrations from world-class chefs and the FUZE Art Expo, featuring artists from the region.
- The Bahamas Bonefishing Tournament Series in Exuma finishes up on October 14-18 and then November 10-15. It highlights sustainable fishing practices and supports local communities on the island.
- The Conch Cracking Festival, on Grand Bahama Island, is slated for October 12. The annual cultural festival in McClean’s Town focuses on the unofficial national dish of The Bahamas. In addition to presenting plenty of local delicacies, a competition will find out who can extract conch meat from the shell the fastest.
