Walt Disney World is using solar panels to help power the theme park and surrounding facilities, and the panels that went into operation Tuesday are fittingly shaped like the company's Mickey Mouse logo.
According to The Associated Press, officials from Disney World, Duke Energy and Disney's private government all ceremonially flipped the switch for the 48,000 solar new solar panels shaped like the iconic logo of Mickey Mouse's head.
The facility is operated by Duke Energy, and is located on a 22-acre lot near the Epcot theme park in Orlando. Duke Energy will in turn sell the energy to Disney's private government, Reedy Creek Improvement District.
The energy from the solar panels will help power the Walt Disney World resort, as well as hotels along Hotel Plaza Boulevard and the Four Seasons Resort.
Fox 13 Tampa Bay shared images of the Mickey Mouse-shaped solar panels on Twitter:
