Nayarit continues to unveil new dining options, including La Casa by Thierry Blouet in Bucerías, where acclaimed chef Vanessa Blouet creates contemporary dishes that put a new spin on traditional offerings using organic ingredients.
“Thierry Blouet is also behind Tuna Blanca in Punta de Mita, an established fine-dining address that has helped define the area’s culinary identity,’ tourism officials said.
“Elsewhere along the coast, Carao at One&Only Mandarina brings the culinary vision of acclaimed Mexican chef Enrique Olvera to Riviera Nayarit, while Rubra in Punta de Mita showcases chef Daniela Soto-Innes’ interpretation of Mexican ingredients and the surrounding landscape,” they added, noting that “restaurants such as Héctor’s Kitchen further broaden the independent dining scene.”
Cultural Exploration
Nayarit is also ideally suited for affluent travelers seeking one-of-a-kind experiences, from meeting with artisans and chefs to visiting archeological sites and wineries.
“Set in the mountains near the Ceboruco volcano, Meseta del Cielo is Nayarit’s first vineyard,” tourism officials said. “Since 2019, the property has successfully cultivated European varieties including Syrah and Macabeo.”
Nayarit also features nine Pueblos Mágicos, towns recognized for their cultural uniqueness, including Compostela, San Blas, Ixtlán del Río, Ahuacatlán, Amatlán de Cañas and Puerto Balleto in the Islas Marías.

In the end, “Nayarit’s strength for the travel trade ultimately lies in its ability to layer experiences,” tourism officials said. “A client can begin with several nights at a beachfront resort, spend a morning on a private boat, play golf or book a wellness experience, dine at a chef-driven restaurant and then travel inland for a vineyard tasting or cultural experience.”
