How to Bike Around Taiwan
Destination & Tourism Janeen Christoff March 29, 2017

If you are looking for a unique way to explore Taiwan, you can cycle around the island in just 12 days says a report on CNN.
A new cycling route called Taiwan's Cycle Route No. 1 — a two-wheeled circumnavigation around the island — could be the coolest way to explore the island.
“Inaugurated in 2015, this 602-mile (968-kilometer) epic is fast becoming one of Asia's greatest adventures — not to mention a lifetime ambition among cycling-obsessed Taiwanese,” writes Mark Stratton.
The only bummer is that it is not recommended for beginners.
“It weaves through a mix of dedicated cycleways, uncrowded country roads and segregated lanes on busier roads,” says Stratton.
Cyclists might want to make sure they are in tip-top shape for this adventure, too.

“Most cyclists tackling Route No. 1 start in the flatter area of western Taiwan to build up stamina for the tougher eastern coast,” notes Stratton.
