The Los Angeles Times and Bankrate.com have not only made it easy but have also given travelers a feeling of "almost too good to be true" when it comes to traveling in 2017.
According to the article, airfares are dropping, gas prices are lower than they were last year, and "more than half of you are still not using all your vacation days."
With new aircraft's being introduced this year, you'll be able to see a decrease in airfares. "According to an FAAreport (on the future of aviation, through 2036) and why you'll see fewer of the old 747s and 757s, which are giving way to more fuel-efficient models the airlines now have money to buy."
To add to it, the newer jetliners mean an increase in food. The airlines are saving money now and that means they need to figure out something to do with all of the extra funds. The food scenario dealt with some cutbacks back in 2008 which meant less "niceties" because of record fuel prices. Last year, United, American, Southwest and Delta all offered snacks. And we love snacks.
When it comes to the consistency of the airfares staying low, if you're asking that question, the answer at the moment is "maybe." "A barrel of oil in December hovered around $51. That price has seesawed from almost $145 a barrel in July 2008 (almost $163 in today's dollars) to $26.55 in January 2016," reports the Los Angeles Times.

The gas prices are creeping up at the moment, but they are still lower than they were a few years ago. It's not a ridiculous drop (10% change in gas prices), but the option of taking your trip to the road is always there.
A new year with a lot of people using travel as one of their resolutions will make it easier for individuals to reach their goals. My advice would be to use all of the tips and tricks and book as early as possible. We know a lot of these offers and prices won't last long.
