There were many winners at the 2018 Travvy Awards, but one of the top destinations that stole the show was New York City.
Travel agents awarded New York City with the gold Travvy statuette as the Best Overall Destination in the United States and Canada category during the January ceremony.
In addition, the country's most populous city also earned the top prize in the Best Culinary Destination in the United States and Canada category.
"We were doubly pleased to learn New York City won both the Best City and Best Culinary Destination in America at this year's Travvys," NYC & Company President and CEO Fred Dixon said in a statement. "It is a testament to the vibrant and ever-evolving nature of our great city and it's world-class, diverse offerings found nowhere else on this scale."
"In particular, the city's unparalleled culinary scene continues to inspire and draw foodies seeking the best," Dixon continued. "From food trucks and culinary walking tours to green markets and top chefs, NYC never disappoints."
Travel agents and tourists already know NYC for Brooklyn's vibrant social scene, SoHo's expansive fashion offering, and Queens' diverse culinary selections, but the city continues to build toward the future.
