On Sunday, officials from Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group announced the IMG Worlds of Adventure theme park in Dubai would officially open to the public on Aug. 15.
According to The Associated Press, the opening date announcement was made during a press conference, and officials revealed that the 1.5 million square foot, $1 billion indoor theme park will be the world's largest.
Inside the facility, the amusement park will feature sections based on popular characters and companies, including a portion of the park dedicated to Marvel Comics and another section branded by Cartoon Network.
In addition to the popular brands which joined in on the project, there is a dinosaur-themed area of the park which will feature a roller coaster that sends passengers outside for a wild ride before returning them back into the climate-controlled buildings.
As for ticket prices, Emirates247.com is reporting that adult tickets will be Dh300 per person (roughly $82) and tickets for children will cost Dh250 ($68) each. Tickets went on sale to the general public Monday, April 25.
Officials from IMG Worlds of Adventure are expecting to welcome around 30,000 people on opening day, and are estimating a total of 4.5 million guests in the first full year. Some of the rides gaining the most attention include the Spider-Man Doc Ock's Revenge roller coaster, The Velociraptor roller coaster, the Avengers Battle of Ultron dark ride and much more.

The opening for IMG Worlds of Adventure will come just a few weeks before Dubai Parks and Resorts debuts its facilities in October. With both amusement parks becoming a staple of the Dubai tourism boom, the area is poised to become the theme park capital of the region.
