Hotwire has compiled research to give travelers a sneak peek at the most popular and the most affordable destinations to see the fabulous fall colors this year.
Several destinations in the Eastern U.S. are both popular and affordable, with New York City and Boston prime targets for visitors. Travelers to Boston can score hotel rooms for just $171 per night. In New York, travelers can save even more with rooms going for $167.
For those looking for affordable and colorful fall getaways, head south to San Antonio where room rates are as low as $89, according to Hotwire.
In Saint Louis, travelers can combine the best of fall with brewery tours and great barbecue. Hotwire’s Hot Rate deals show that room rates in the city of Saint Louis are under $80.

Travelers seeking spectacular leaf-peeping as well as great savings can hop the border to Canada. Montreal is top of the list. Visitors will be wowed by the foliage as well as the chance to pick apples, visit pumpkin farms and score room rates for just $116.
The most affordable fall cities for foliage-viewing are Madison, Wisconsin; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Harrisonburg, Virgina; and New Haven, Connecticut. All offer room rates below $100.
For those looking to couple leaf-peeping with real adventure, a visit to Anchorage should be on your radar. Combine the vibrant hues of fall with the spectacular Northern Lights for a technicolor pre-winter getaway. Rooms in Anchorage can be booked for just $98.
