This Memorial Day Weekend, the Mount Hood RV Resort will celebrate something very small. The resort is inviting people from around the world to vacation tiny when its Tiny House Village opens, offering guests the opportunity to try out this back-to-basics lifestyle in the stunning setting of northern Oregon.
Tiny living is an architectural movement as well as a social movement and there are a lot of people who are interested in trying out the lifestyle in a less permanent way. The village includes five tiny homes that are between 175 and 260 square feet. Each one has its own theme and personality. However, just because they are tiny, doesn't mean they are short on amenities. Each house includes a television, full bathrooms, queen-size beds, kitchens, on-site Wi-Fi access and more.
The Atticus is a tall, modern mountain cabin with a rugged feel crafted of cedar and trimmed with black wood. It sleeps three and is 173 square feet with a full bathroom and a kitchen as well as a separate bedroom and a loft. It rents for $129 per night.
Lincoln is rustic on the outside with modern features on the inside and sleeps five in 261 square feet. There is a full bathroom and a kitchen, a loft, a bedroom, a great room and a porch. The house is pet friendly (for a modest fee) and rents for $139 per night.
With a bright blue exterior, Zoe will appeal to the whimsy in everyone done in a boho chic style. It sleeps three and has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, great room, loft and porch and offers 196 square feet.
Savannah invokes the spirit and hospitality of the south with a bright yellow exterior, a girly interior and a relatively spacious exterior. The house features one bedroom, a bathroom, a great room, a kitchen, a porch and a loft. Its 175 square feet and sleeps three people.
Scarlet looks like a miniature farm house and exudes a similar charm. Family heirlooms deck the walls and inside a double loft give the farmhouse a feeling of spaciousness. It's 233 square feet and sleeps five. There's a bathroom, one bedroom, the double loft, a kitchen, a great room and a porch.
The Mount Hood RV Resort is also located in the Mount Hood National Forest and more than 700 groomed hiking trails are right outside your door. Year-round skiing and snowboarding are just up the road at the historic Timberline Lodge and Portland's eclectic art and culinary scene are just one hour away.
