The Mexican Caribbean strengthened its engagement with one of the travel industry’s most influential agency networks at EDGE 2025, the annual international conference hosted by Travel Leaders Network, a leading seller of luxury travel, cruises and tours. Held June 9-12 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the event brought together agency owners and managers for four days of education, business development and networking, providing valuable opportunities to learn from industry leaders, connect with suppliers and peers, and gain destination insights. As a Gold Sponsor, the Mexican Caribbean used the platform to spotlight recent developments, build advisor relationships and highlight new opportunities across its broad collection of 12 sought-after locales, each offering a rich mix of scenery, culture and experiences for travelers.

The Mexican Caribbean delegation was led by Andrés Martínez, CEO of the Mexican Caribbean Tourism Board, along with Jorge Luis Tellez, Promotion Director; Lizeth Perez, Promotion Manager; Coenraad Bergwerf, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Cancun; and Oscar Quijano, Director of Luxury Sales at Waldorf Astoria Cancun and Conrad Tulum. During the General Session, Martínez addressed the attendees with updates on the region, including infrastructure investments such as the opening of the Tulum International Airport (TQO) and the phased rollout of the Mayan Train, both of which are expanding access and making it easier for travelers to explore multiple Mexican Caribbean destinations within a single trip. These developments align with the Mexican Caribbean’s “New Era” campaign, designed to reflect the evolving interests of today’s travelers by highlighting the vibrant region’s immersive cultural experiences, culinary innovation, leading wellness offerings, unforgettable nightlife, and expanded opportunities for multi-stop itineraries.

In addition to the main stage presentation, the Mexican Caribbean team participated in several conference elements designed to deepen engagement with attending agency leaders. As part of the pre-conference Luxury Forum on Sunday, June 8, the team conducted 22 one-on-one appointments highlighting the region's elevated luxury offerings. Perez led a 45-minute educational workshop during the Destination Connections event titled “The New Era: It’s Time to Reconnect with the Mexican Caribbean,” providing advisors with a deeper look at new developments, diverse experiences and opportunities to build more dynamic itineraries for their clients. Throughout the tradeshow, the Mexican Caribbean booth maintained a steady presence where advisors engaged with team members directly, seeking to learn more about the region’s 12 iconic destinations via one-on-one discussions.

The Mexican Caribbean’s active participation at EDGE 2025 reinforced its commitment to the travel advisor community and showcased its continued evolution. With expanding air and rail access, elevated luxury offerings, and a growing variety of cultural and experiential opportunities, the region remains well positioned to meet the interests of today’s travelers while supporting advisors in delivering customized, high-value itineraries for their clients.
