Internova Travel Group announced on Thursday that Angie
Licea will step down as president of Global Travel Collection (GTC).
Licea will remain with Internova during the leadership
transition while exploring other opportunities within the organization.
Since GTC launched in 2020, Licea has helped grow the
business into a $2.4 billion operation, uniting Protravel International, Tzell
Travel Group, and ALTOUR Leisure and Entertainment under one brand.
“Angie took on the challenge of bringing together some of
the most established names and accomplished advisors in luxury travel and
helped create a stronger, more connected organization,” J.D. O’Hara, CEO of
Internova Travel Group, said.
“Today’s GTC reflects her ability to lead through change
while keeping advisors at the center of every decision,” O’Hara continued. “I’m
deeply grateful for everything she has contributed to GTC and Internova more
broadly.”
Licea joined Travel Leaders Group in 2012 and has nearly
four decades of travel industry experience, including roles with US Airways,
American Express, and Rosenbluth International.
The company said Licea and O’Hara have worked together to
identify her successor, who will be announced in the coming weeks. Licea will
remain involved to support a smooth leadership transition.
“What I’ll remember most about leading GTC is the people,”
Licea said. “We brought together remarkable businesses, but what made it work
was the talent, ambition and entrepreneurial drive of our advisors and teams.”
“I’m proud of what we built and especially proud that we did
it without losing what makes these businesses special. I’m looking forward to
the next chapter and to continuing to contribute to an industry that has meant
so much to me,” Licea concluded.
