Earlier this fall, my husband and I took our kids on a two-week trip to Spain and France. We started our journey in Madrid, Segovia and Barcelona, then spent four days in the Loire Valley of France before reaching Paris for the final two days of our trip.
While I had no trouble finding places I wanted to stay for the rest of our vacation, Paris is a tricky place to book lodging for a family. There aren't a lot of hotels that sleep four people to a room, and Airbnb options were scarce for our dates.
Eventually, I found out about ParisPerfect.com and was able to give it a try. (ParisPerfect.com is an Airbnb-style condo rental company that rents out high-end and luxury apartments all over Paris.)
The benefit of renting from the site is the fact you get a rental condo without the downsides of Airbnb or VRBO.com, such as dealing with an individual owner. You're renting a condo, but the experience is more of booking from a hotel.
You basically select the dates you want, then browse the condos available over your time period. While we were initially booked in a different condo, we were eventually asked if we wanted to move to their Saint Emilion property, which is near the Eiffel Tower.
While I liked the location of the original property we started with better, I was fine with moving to the Saint Emilion property. It looked nicer in the photos and had an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. As a bonus, it had a second bathroom for the kids.
When we arrived in Paris, I followed the instructions on our booking paperwork and called the local Paris Perfect office. They had someone waiting to meet me at the condo after our brief conversation, just like if we had rented an Airbnb or rental condo.
Once we arrived at the condo itself, our greeter let us in and showed us how the condo worked and how to lock up. Then he left, and we were on our own to explore Paris.
I had a great experience renting from them as an American, and I appreciated their prompt response to my emails and inquiries. If we go to Paris again soon, I would consider staying with them again.
