Navigating Houston's airports is about to get much easier.

The Houston Airport System announced Sunday that it will launch a first-of-its-kind wayfinding application for use at George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport.

The app will roll out this month on fly2houston.com and won't require users to download or install a separate app.

"The fact that there is no app necessary-that travelers at our airports can use it simply by going to fly2houston.com on their smart device-offers another powerful and valuable tool to our customers," the Houston Airport System's head of marketing Kathleen Boyd said in a statement.

Travelers using "Maps Online" will have access to turn-by-turn directions in text and interactive map format.

The new feature will also display users' estimated time of arrival and location information as well as enable them to search for various destinations, including gates, shops and security checkpoints. The app will ensure passengers take the most direct route possible to save time and headaches.

The Houston Airport System is working with San Francisco-based company LocusLabs to bring the technology to passengers.

Travelers can already access fully integrated wayfinding maps through the upgraded Fly Delta app on their smart device. Delta also collaborated with LocusLabs to bring the maps to more than 20 major airports.

Fly2houston.com's new addition comes just one year after the site was revamped. According to the Houston Airport System, the maps are among the most visited pages on the site.
