The Lesser-Known Romantic Parts of Paris

Paris. The name alone brings a certain sense of romance and love.
While the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and Norte-Dame should be on your must-see list, GOGO Vacations gives us a few secret spots to sneak off to for a few intimate moments with your special someone.
While dinner at the Eiffel Tower may be a dream come true, Paris is filled with tons of rooftop bars and restaurants that often feature romantic touches like candles, fireplaces and gardens. A restaurant on top of a hotel with the same name, Terass’ boasts an intimate indoor space with floor-to-ceiling windows along with the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower all alight before you.
Who doesn’t love chocolate? It’s the perfect way to finish a meal or even just indulge in any time of day. Marcolini’s stores can be found around Europe, but their small Rue de Bac location in Paris affords visitors the opportunity to enjoy creative chocolates infused with Champagne, passion fruit, or tea sans crowds.
This city is filled with secret parks and courtyards. At the very end of the Ile de la Cite lies Le Square du Vert-Galant, a shaded area with lush trees perfect for watching the swans swim by on the Sein. In addition, Le Jardin Sauvage Saint-Vincent and the Jardines des Archives Nationales are perfect for seeing the beauty of the city.
From June-August, dancers and musicians gather along the banks of the Seine at various ports and parks to play and move to jazz, rock, salsa, tango, and just about a genre for every taste. Can you think of anything more romantic than dancing under the stars with Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower in the distance?
Paris used to be one of the top wine producers in the country. The concrete jungle may have taken over, but a few small vineyards still lie within city limits. A little hilltop village called Butte Bergeyre contains a patch of vines so small, it might take you a minute to realize it’s a vineyard with an incredible view of Montmartre and Sacre Coeur.
There’s also the historic winery of Clos de Montmartre, which holds many festivals and events throughout the year.
