Tammy: Yes, I believe that most people have made a bucket list of travel destinations where they would like to go one day.
I wanted to explore this further so got some helpful information from Matt Zajechowski of Digital Third Coast. He told me that a recent survey shows that 95 percent of Americans have made a bucket list! He also added that more than two-thirds of this group are planning to check off one of their destinations in the next year.
This is great news as it means that people are actually taking action to make their bucket list travel destination dreams come true! While many people are taking action to make this dream a reality, understanding why others may not be taking action can be a benefit to you, as maybe you can help to remove any barriers getting in their way, like a lack of finances or a lack of time.
The results from the survey allow an inside look at some of the most desired bucket list travel destinations people want to explore, both locally and abroad. Here's some of the more detailed information they found out, which can be really beneficial when it comes to helping clients who currently have a list or whose you want to make one.
-Top bucket list cities for 2019: Honolulu, New York, Las Vegas, Anchorage and San Francisco
-Top international countries: Australia, Italy, Ireland, Japan and the United Kingdom
-A little more than half of bucket list travelers want to bring their spouse or a significant other when going on their bucket list trip
-About one in seven would like to visit their bucket list destination solo
Be sure to ask your clients if they have a bucket list. The average number of travel destinations people have on theirs is eight, so this means you should have plenty of options when it comes to helping your clients choose a destination to travel to this year.
And be sure to use the term bucket list when you promote your agency-"I can help you plan your bucket list trips!"-since there's such a high percentage of people who have a bucket list
