What makes a vacation meaningful to you?
For some, it’s time spent with loved ones. For others, it’s doing some new, like connecting to new people, learning new cultures, trying new foods, etc.
Every travel experience should have meaning, whether it’s solo, with family, friends, or even for business.
Tourism Cares recently relaunched a tool for the travel industry to utilize as one way to make the vacation even more meaningful.
The Tourism Cares Meaningful Travel Map is “a B2B tool helping members of the travel trade and travelers find authentic, community-led experiences, services, accommodations and tours.”
It features over 150 sustainable experiences around the world. And while it may not have every single country on it just yet, the premise behind it is incredibly powerful for the travel industry.
We need to move forward to become a more sustainable travel industry. Creative, interactive maps like this help ease the process of selecting a more sustainable form of travel, and I can only hope more destinations partner with Tourism Cares to help this map grow even stronger.
It’s time we make travel more meaningful in ways that will help sustain our stunning Earth.
